NatureLog is a web app you can install without an app store. On Android, open naturelog.de in Chrome and choose “Install app” or “Add to home screen”. On iPhone, open the site in Safari, tap “Share” and then “Add to Home Screen”.
The lexicon contains 575 species native to Germany: birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, insects and spiders. Each species has a profile with size, habitat, conservation status, when to see it and similar species.
Yes, in two ways. In the lexicon you narrow species down with filters for animal group, order, colour, size and conservation status. You can also upload a photo and search it with Google Lens.
Create a free account, open the species in the lexicon and mark it as seen. It then appears in your collection, where you can add your own photo.
Yes. You can upload your favourite photo for every species you have seen. If your profile is public, your photos also appear on that species' lexicon page. Uploaded photos are checked against our content rules.

You decide: set your profile to public or private in the settings. A private profile is visible only to people you follow who also follow you. You can also keep species lists private, for example for your target species.
Use “Suggest a missing animal” in the lexicon to propose new species. You can also submit improvements to existing texts right on a species' page.
Yes, at any time in the settings. This also deletes your sightings and photos. Details on how your data is handled are in the privacy policy.
